Just thought I would stop by and say hello. Was so sorry to read that your already closed for the season. We are working (thru our garden club at Peggs) to help folks work on fall gardens right now. I know several are still growing and producing right now. Its so sad that garden seeds arent more available this time of year. We are planting TONS even this week. With all the rain we're having (sun will be back in a day or two) everything is GROWING! To get really great FAST GROWING Asian Greens (harvests in 30-35 days) , visit and/or We have several good resources in this next of the woods too though...... We frequently have garden updates and seedswapping at our meetings. We frequently shop & trade home produceamongst families. Looking forward to getting to know YOU!
A FEW of our garden club meetings in 2009 are scheduled to include:
· Sept 26th – Beekeeping Workshop: LIVE hive demonstration (promises to be a FULL HOUSE) · Oct 24th – Cheese-making Workshop: Easy Homemade Cheeses · Nov 21st – Fermentation Workshop: Preserving Food Naturally · Dec 19th – Soap-making Workshop: Goats milk soap made simple Hope to address many other topics as well....as we find resource folks willing to share. Some of the suggested topics include: Emergency Preparedness, Dealing with livestock and garden predators, Sucession & Companion Planting, Aquaponics, Stock up HOME-DRIED Foods and more........
